Nancy Marx Cancer Wellness Center

Our expert cancer wellness specialists are here to support your overall quality of life by providing services and holistic care to ALL cancer survivors throughout all phases of treatment. Check out our October Programs + Events Calendar for dates and descriptions.

  • Participants are encouraged to attend group classes for mind, body and health – such as yoga, meditation and swimming – which help manage stress, emotional well-being and the side effects/symptoms of cancer.
  • By forming connections with one another through our discussion and support groups, cancer survivors gain the sense of hope with compassionate like-minded people.
  • Special workshops (on topics such as journaling and nutrition), an annual retreat and more are scheduled throughout the year.

Registration and a telephone intake are required prior to participation. All programs run for 12 weeks, with an assessment done at the conclusion of the program.

“There are no words to fully express my gratitude for the JCC Cancer Wellness program, for you as the director of this program and for all the participants I met in the discussion group. It has helped me grow stronger physically and emotionally. When I entered the program I was so depressed, but slowly my strength and spirit started to return. I am learning acceptance of uncertainty and finding ways to make life meaningful again. For all these blessings, I am filled with gratitude.”

“The Retreat today was perfect, warm and friendly and a pleasure to attend. Thank you for hosting such a fine event. Thanks for all you do at JCC.”

“Thanks for all you do for us. Your programs have given me true boosts.”

“I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate attending the water exercise class every Tuesday. I feel so much better since I have been attending class. A year ago I would not have believed just what this therapy has done for me. Thank you Randy.”

Here at Sid Jacobson JCC, we’ve come to realize that everyone has been affected by cancer in one way or another. Perhaps you have been diagnosed.  If not, chances are that a family member, a friend, a teacher, a colleague or a neighbor has had to beat – or is in the process of – beating the battle. With hope and help from professionals, such as the specialists at the Nancy Marx Cancer Wellness Center, those touched by cancer should know that they are not alone.

If you have been affected by cancer in any way, this is the place for you. We invite you to share your thoughts, feelings, frustrations, challenges, dreams, hopes. Or, let someone you care about know that you are thinking about them and will remain in their corner every step of the way.

Regardless of whether you are a program participant or not, we invite you to share your story with us (anonymously if you wish).
