2020-2021 SEASON

At this time, the Barracudas Swim Team is only open to active SJJCC members. The season will run from Monday, October 12, 2020 to Monday, April 12, 2021. Currently, there are no scheduled in-person swim meets, but with a long season we are exploring ways  to see if swimmers will be able to compete this year.

Want to unfreeze, reinstate your membership or become a member? Contact our Membership Department to get started.

This year’s schedule is designed to safely accommodate up to 12 swimmers in the pool at a time and broken into two groups, A and B. There will be a 1:3 coach to swimmer ratio at practice throughout the season. Due to safety guidelines, we ask that all swimmers bring their own equipment (flippers, kkckboards, and pull buoys). Coaches will let swimmers know what to bring and when.

Practices are closed to everyone but those on the swim team. Swimmers have the whole pool to themselves and most of the time they have their own lane during practice. With a low coach to swimmer ratio, swimmers receive extra coaching, it is almost like they are having a semi-private lesson.

Weekday practice times will be Mondays-Thursdays, 4:15-7:35pm. Weekend practices will be on Saturdays, 1-4pm

  • Group A will meet Mondays and Wednesday, Group B will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays
    • Novice, 4:15-5pm
    • Age, 5:10-6:10pm
    • Junior/Senior, 6:20-7:35pm
  • Groups A and B will switch off Saturdays
    • Novice, 1-1:40pm
    • Age, 1:50-2:35pm
    • Junior/Senior, 2:45-3:45pm

We encourage all swimmers to attend every practice, but of course, that is not mandatory. There will also be no “make-ups” on other days, as we are purposely trying to limit exposure where possible. Stroke clinics will also be on Saturdays*, in lieu of practice, and we will have 8 total (4 to a group). Practices and stroke clinics will be “closed” (swimmers and coaches only).

This season, we are consolidating Bits/Novices into the Novice group, which will have a separate pricing group, $750 for the season.

*Bits/Novices will not be attending the stroke clinics, and will participate in any potential meets at the discretion of the coaching staff.

Our staff has started to book virtual swim meets with more to be added to the schedule!
