Our state-of the art facility is the perfect place to enjoy all our great productions and workshops. Whether you’re a member of the audience or interested in being a performer, you’ll find Sid Jacobson JCC is the place to be for theatre.

Community theatre enriches the lives of those who take an active part in it, as well as those in the community who benefit from live theatre productions. Community theatre offers a gateway to new worlds of experience, emotion and knowledge.

Our programs give you the opportunity to work with a diverse group of creative people who share a theatrical vision of that not only entertain the audience but also broadens their understanding of the world in which they live.

We have productions, workshops, camps and volunteer programs. You can become a performer, help with the lighting, create the set designs or craft the costumes. With so many ways to participate your sure to find a deeply rewarding opportunity to grow your creativity. As part of a team your participation will create an impact on the community in so many ways.

If you love performing, the JCC is the place to be! Whether you’re interested in singing, dancing or dramatic acting our workshops and productions give you the tools to do so.

A Class Act Logo_NEW

In collaboration with A Class Act NY — New York’s premier acting studio. Many workshop participants are appearing on Broadway, television and film. All skill levels welcome, space is limited!

ANASTASIA + AUDITION TECHNIQUE WORKSHOP
Ages: 7-18 years
Work with a star from Broadway’s newest hit Anastasia and learn a song and dance combo from the show. After, students will perform a mock audition for a scouting talent Rep who will provide useful feedback and coaching.

CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY + AUDITION TECHNIQUE WORKSHOP
Ages: 7-18 years
Monette McKay, star of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will teach a song and dance combo from Broadway’s sweetest show and participate in a Q&A. Students will perform a mock audition for a scouting talent rep who will provide useful feedback and coaching.

THE LITTLE MERMAID
Grades: K-2

Join us Under the Sea in our personalized version of this popular classic. Children gain confidence, learn new skills and have fun! Program will culminate with performances in the spring.  Three sessions available.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
Grades: 3-6
Be Our Guest in this magical tale as old as time. All participants receive individual coaching. Lots of great parts for all! Three sessions available.

NEW BORN TO ENTERTAIN
Grades: 2-3 and 4-5
This class will introduce the fundamentals of singing techniques and performance skills. Through fun-filled exercises and learning age-appropriate songs, the students will begin the journey of finding their own unique voice and how to be expressive on stage. Class size is limited, all skill levels welcome. Taught by Carla Friend.

Opportunities

Volunteer

Love the theatre, but prefer to work behind the scenes? Volunteer opportunities are available for production assistants, set builders, scenic artists, costumers, lighting and sound technicians, stage managers and stage crew. Adults and teens welcome. Community service and college internships available.
