SPECIAL EVENT

YELLOW ROSE SOCIETY’S FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE MAH JONGG TOURNAMENT
Get ready for a day of strategy, skill, and camaraderie at our tournament, supervised by the Mah Jongg Queen herself, Judy Umansky! Prizes awarded to the first, second, and third place players with a light breakfast and lunch for all. Proceeds will benefit Sid Jacobson JCC to improve the lives of individuals with dementia and other neurodegenerative conditions and their care partners. 25% of ticket purchases are tax-deductible.

EAST Responsibilities for the Tournament

• EAST will bring a Mah Jongg Set, SJJCC will provide a table cover
• EAST will keep score for each game/round for the table (everyone keeps track of their own scores for each game as well)
• EAST verifies that all players have initialed their score
• EAST turns in score card to scorekeeper after each round
• EAST places table # on floor during round, and replaces it for the rotation
• EAST reminds players about time remaining in each game (clock will be visible to all)

BEGINNER CANASTA
Learn the rules, strategies, and scoring with hands-on play.

Polish your Canasta skills while learning advanced strategies.

BEGINNER MAH JONGG
Learn to play this fun game using the official rules of the National Mah Jongg League. The 2024 card is required for this class, available to purchase for $15, please contact Audrey Kurland, akurland@sjjcc.org, if you would like to reserve one.

BRIDGE CLASSES

Learn Bridge in a small group setting with individualized attention from ACBL Certified Bridge Teachers Joe Burns and Elliot Diamond. Come with a partner or without, singles are welcome.
