About the Exhibition
The Selective Eye explores the photographer’s ability to preserve a fleeting moment and invite others to experience it from a new perspective. From the color of an autumn leaf and the warmth of a smile to a sunrise or a bird in flight, each photograph reflects a deliberate choice of subject, timing, and composition. Through scenes captured across the American West, Europe, and beyond, Bert Kraus transforms moments from everyday life and his travels into lasting visual stories.
About the Artist
Bert Kraus holds a degree in Fine Arts from New York Institute of Technology, where he majored in Illustration and Design, and has also studied at the International Center of Photography. His love of illustration and the American West led him to study watercolor painting with several of today’s leading Western artists.
Kraus’ work has been exhibited at the Nassau County Museum of Art, Trapani Art & Frame in Manhasset, and the Langdon Gallery in Locust Valley. His photography has earned awards, appeared annually in Charleston Magazine, and much more.
