COOKING WITH GALIT

Join along with our Community Shlicha as she gets creative in the kitchen showing you how to create Israeli dishes!

MINI PASHTIDAH BAKING CLASS
Pashtidah is a crustless vegetable pie, and we will be preparing a dairy version to celebrate Shavuot. We’ll mix and match ingredient so you can create your favorite Pashtidah, and if you are missing ingredients, don’t worry, we will still make a delicious version!

Ingredients:

  • Oil
  • 3 cups of veggie (corn, broccoli, or zucchini)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of a soft cheese (such as sour cream, cottage cheese, or plain yogurt)
  • 1 onion
  • 3 tablespoons of any hard cheese (use any kind you like)
  • 3 tablespoons of flour
  • Salt, pepper, and spices

For preparation and cooking you will need:

  • Large bowl
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Spoon
  • Frying pan
  • Muffin tin

SHAKSHUKA

  • Eggs
  • Tomatoes (fresh or canned)
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Spices: Salt, Pepper and Paprika
  • Cutting Board
  • Knife
  • Large or Medium Pan

HUMMUS + PITA

For the hummus:

  • Canned chickpeas
  • Lemon
  • Olive oil
  • Tahini
  • Garlic
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Food processor (suggested) or bowl and a fork

For the pita:

  • Frying pan
  • Large bowl
  • 3 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 10 grams of dry yeast
  • Salt
