Michelle Laser, LCSW
Director of Social Services
Providing members of SJJCC and the greater community with programs that offer individual and group support is Michelle Laser, Director of Social Services. Michelle received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Queens College and a Master of Social Work from the Hunter College of Social Work in New York City. She has been practicing Social Work as a licensed clinician for 35 years, the past 10 years being at the JCC. As the Director of Social Services, Michelle oversees our Partners in Caring (a collaborative with 22 community synagogues) program, Support Groups and Counseling Services, Career>Connect Long Island and the social work graduate school Internship program. Most recently, she developed an Aftercare Community Transition Program for Recovery, for those who struggle with addiction and their loved ones. Michelle remains passionate about addressing the vast array of mental health needs facing those on Long Island, and developing best practices to meet those needs.
