Sid Jacobson JCC’s Bernice & Ira Waldbaum Family Children’s Center – Youth Department offers onsite after-school activities for children at our East Hills Campus, the Guggenheim Elementary School in Port Washington, and Center Street, Denton Avenue and Searingtown schools in Herricks. All programs share the same goals: to provide safe, positive, and fun after-school experiences for all children.

Enrichment activities at Sid Jacobson JCC provide children with a unique after-school experience. From spending time together on the bus from school to the JCC, to enjoying a snack, to homework help, and recreational play, all the way to creatively expressing themselves in enrichments, each child goes home with a sense of accomplishment. Our staff, enrichment teachers, coaches, and teen volunteers all work together to create a positive after-school experience for every child.

Our offerings include classes in athletics and fitness, the arts, technology, and educational skill-building. Working with specialists from the community, Sid Jacobson JCC is able to bring you the utmost quality programming right in our building. Looking for a class we do not currently offer? Tell our team and we will gladly look into incorporating new activities into our schedule!

Our after-school programs offered in Port Washington and Herricks are licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. Each location offers enrichment options and homework help daily. With flexible scheduling to meet your needs, waived registration fee, and payment plans available, these programs are the perfect options for any family looking to expand the school day.

Transportation to the JCC is available from the Roslyn School District including East Hills, Heights, and Harbor Hill; busing is also available from the North Side School and Solomon Schechter Day School.

Our Youth Department also offers several vacation programs throughout the school year! Full-day programs are run on several school recess days, giving your family flexibility and your children the fun and excitement they love. Every vacation program includes swimming, sports, art projects, cooking, and more!
