While we will not be opening as we had hoped Monday, April 20, we are already in planning mode for when we can. We will be following the lead of our local and state government to open our doors, following the science, when it is considered safe and sound.
The Sid Jacobson JCC staff have been and continue to be, hard at work developing many innovative remote programming for virtually every age group. In addition, our website is increasingly serving as an information portal for programs you can access throughout many organizations in our area. Your JCC membership enables all this and more. It is vital to us. In spite of our new, yet temporary reality, you have empowered us to retool and transform ourselves into a robust virtual presence in your homes. We thank you for the notes and the calls from parents of toddlers, fitness members working out with our trainers, to caregivers of those who count on us for respite and the list goes on. Visit our constantly evolving virtual schedule to see what programs may be of interest.
To give you a glimpse into our diligent and dynamic social services department, this past week we have:
- Contacted over 1,500 senior members to provide comfort and assess needs.
- Donated over 1,000 pounds of food and baby formula to the food insecure in our own backyards.
- Hosted weekly support groups, programs, and virtual exercise groups for our Nancy Marx Cancer Wellness Center participants.
- Provided virtual activities so our Adult Day Program families can engage their loved one with dementia.
We are beyond grateful to our members for continuing their membership and for supporting our work throughout the community. We will always respect your wishes and work with any individual or family who is in financial distress. Our promise to you is simple – to serve you as if there is no crisis and to respect the health and safety of all.
We look forward to seeing you within our walls soon. Until then, we remain working for you and yours.
