MEET OUR COACHES
SJJCC boasts a roster of all-star basketball coaches! Find out more about who they are.
Leading SJJCC’s talented team of basketball coaches is Coach D, who is certified with Positive Coaching Alliance, an NBA Certified Clinician through USA Basketball Youth Development and Licensed, and a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Coach D’s experience in the sport of basketball has spanned both the NBA and Pro-Am; coaching at the World-Famous Rucker Park in Harlem New York, working the Brooklyn Nets summer camps, working individual NBA camps with ProCamps.com, and working NBA Fit Week All-Star Weekend in 2015. His years in the professional sport also allowed him to work with high-profile NBA players such as James Harden, Brandon Jennings, Michael Carter Williams, and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson amongst others. At SJJCC Coach D can be found leading our youth members in basketball clinics, classes, and private lessons.
Bringing a lengthy list of experience in high school basketball to the athletic SJJCC youth is Coach Theo. Theo went into private basketball training in 2009 during his junior year at Chaminade High School. From there, he coached at Corpus Christi Basketball Clinic and St. Francis Preparatory High School Basketball Camp, and was head coach of St. Ambrose CYO and a JV basketball team in the Island Garden Spring League. At the JCC Theo is a basketball trainer, where he shares his excitement for teaching classes and his specialization in footwork. He shares with all students his strong belief that with proper footwork any player can create space off of the dribble, no matter what athletic disadvantage they may have.
SJJCC’s basketball Coach Khadim is a pro! Khadim has led New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets basketball camps, Chinese basketball camp in over ten cities, and has planned, organized and conducted practice sessions with the NBA. At SJJCC he’s known for instructing individuals and groups in sports rules, game strategies, and performance principles, such as specific ways of moving the body, hands or feet.
