TRAINING CLUBS

Our training clubs provide you with a group of other members with a shared athletic interest to help you learn, strengthen and stay motivated.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
Complete all of the following during Challenge Week:

  • SWIM – 300 yards in the pool
  • CYCLE – 8 miles indoors
  • RUN – 2 miles on the track or treadmill

All 3 activities must be completed and recorded between Sunday, May 17 – Saturday, May 23, 2020.

We can help you start preparing now! Scroll down for information on how you can train like a pro!

Record your distance and time via your mobile device, and submit your results via email. Don’t own wearable technology? No problem – one of our coaches, trainers, or lifeguards will be happy to help!

ENTRY FEES*
> $45 members / $65 nonmembers
> High School and College Students: $30 members / $50 nonmembers

* Sign up for any (2) training programs and we’ll waive your entry fee!

WINNER CATEGORIES
Winners will be awarded a special prize and be featured on our social platforms. Broken down to male/female and the following age groups:

  • Under 19
  • 20-29 years
  • 30-39 years
  • 40-49 years
  • Masters (50+ years)

RECORDING YOUR RESULTS
Track Your Distance and Time Either of Two Ways:
1.) On the indoor fitness equipment in the cardio area at SJJCC (and send the results to your mobile device)
2.) Use your own wearable technology

Accepted wearable technology includes Apple iWatch, Fitbit, Garmin and Polar products. If you are using Strava, Map My Ride, or other phone apps, the activity cannot be manually entered, but may be recorded live.

SUBMITTING YOUR RESULTS
Share all 3 of your results (swim/cycle/run) in one email along with your gender and age to Natalie Penny, npenny@sjjcc.org.

All 3 activities must be completed and recorded between Sunday, May 17 – Saturday, May 23, 2020.

Remember… all results must be your own! Honor in reporting is expected and awards will be issued to the top male and female winners in each category. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

SWIM TRAINING
Improve, maintain, and excel in your swim leg next season by staying in competitive shape during the indoor months. Includes stroke modification, speed drills, and endurance training.
Begins Monday, March 2
11 weeks
For your convenience, sessions will be held various days throughout the week:

  • Monday and Wednesday, 8:30-9:30pm
  • Tuesday, 12:15-1:15pm
  • Friday, 10:15-11:15am

Choose how many weekly sessions you want to attend:

  • Register for 1 session per week, $300 members / $420 nonmembers
  • Register for 2 sessions per week, $480 members / $720 nonmembers
  • Register 3 sessions, $720 members / $900 nonmembers
  • Individual drop-in sessions, $30 members (available to members only; please call to register)

RUN TRAINING
Begins Tuesday, March 3
11 weeks
Tuesday and Thursday, 6:15-7:15pm
Choose from:

  • 1 session per week, $240 members / $300 nonmembers
  • 2 sessions per week, $360 members / $450 nonmembers
  • Individual drop-in sessions, $20 members (available to members only)

CYCLE TRAINING
MEMBERS
Please check out our group exercise schedule for our diverse selection of indoor cycling/spin classes offered throughout the week, and may attend unlimited classes.

NONMEMBERS
Please reserve your sessions in advance with the Fitness Center Welcome Desk, 516.484.1545 ext. 139, fitness@sjjcc.org.

Choose from:

  • 1 session per week, $240 for 12 weeks
  • 2 sessions per week, $400 for 12 weeks
