From 6 months to adults, build and strengthen your swimming ability in a safe and fun environment. Our classes range from beginner to intermediate and advanced, all led by our expert swim instructors.
CHILDREN’S GROUP SWIM CLASSES

Under the expert guidance of our swim instructors, we can help your child enhance their swimming ability in a safe and fun environment. All bathers 5 years and older are required to wear a bathing cap, which may be purchased at the Fitness Welcome Desk.
Classes will begin on Friday, March 5. There will be no classes on Friday, March 26, Saturday, March 27, Sunday, March 28, Friday, April 2, Saturday, April 3, and Sunday April 4. One make-up session will be scheduled by SJJCC after the final class of each session.

Ages: 6-18 months
Make the water a comfortable and fun place for your child, with an emphasis placed on body position and blowing bubbles. The class is designed to make each child as well as parents comfortable in the water. There is lots of fun and splashing! Parents must be in the water with their child and children must wear swim diapers.
Begins Sunday, March 7, 1-1:30pm
Ages: 18-36 months
It is never too early to learn to swim! Starting at a younger age lays the foundation and makes the pool a fun place. This class is focused on being comfortable in the water. The skills taught are basic floating, kicking, and aquatic safety. Parents must be in the water with their child and children must wear swim diapers.
Begins Sunday, March 7, 1:30-2pm
Ages: 3-5 years
This class is designed to introduce your child to the fundamentals of swimming. We focus on floating, gliding, breath control, and promoting independence and separation. The pre-swimmer class lays the foundation for your child to do an independent swim class. Parents must be in the water with their child and children must wear swim diapers if they are not toilet trained.
Begins Sunday, March 7, 2-2:30pm
Ages: 5-10 years
This is our first class without parents in the water. The children in this group class may be inexperienced and fearful and our goals are to build confidence and make the pool a fun environment. We will go over skills such as basic kicks, arm pull, breath control, floats, and water safety skills.

Ages: 5-10 years
This class is designed for children who are already comfortable in the water, who already have some swimming ability, and can swim several feet unassisted. Children will learn skills such as front crawl, back crawl, and rotary breathing as well as increasing the distance in which they can swim.

Ages: 6-11 years
This class is designed for children who can swim 25 yards (1 pool length) unassisted. A basic knowledge of front crawl and back crawl is needed. Students will learn breathing to the side, breast stroke, and butterfly; as well as building endurance and lap swimming etiquette.

Ages: 7-12 years
This class is for children who can swim 50 yards (2 laps) non-stop, it is for the more skilled swimmer. The strokes that will be covered are front crawl, back crawl, butterfly, breaststroke, and side stroke. This class is geared at building endurance and fine tuning all strokes and getting a swimmer ready for swim team.

*There is a $35 cancellation fee. Refunds will not be given after the third session. The JCC reserves the right to cancel a class due to lack of registration. In such an event, a full refund will be given. In situation of low enrollment, weekday classes may be combined.

AQUA EXERCISE WITH NATALIE
Get back in the water with this class that focuses on muscular conditioning and cardio using flotation devices and the natural resistance of the water, for heart health and stamina. Masks must be worn at all times in and out of the pool. Natalie will have her mask off only during the class so that instruction can be heard clearly by all participants. The class is limited to 8 participants and socially distant chairs will be set up along the pool deck for participant’s belongings. Lanes 1 and 2 will be used for the class, lane 3 will remain empty for safe spacing. Due to safety protocols, we are not giving out equipment, please bring with you any equipment you wish to use.
