Applicants must be available to work approximately 7:30am-9:30am and 3:30pm-5:30pm , Mondays through Fridays, for the full camp season, June 29th – August 21st (camp closed on July 3rd). Exact shift to be determined at a later date
Experience working with children
Current CDL license from New York State
Trained yearly by a 19A examiner
SPECIFIC TASKS:
Drive campers and staff to and from camp on a daily basis
Be available and enthusiastic about meeting campers and parents prior to the start of camp, including scheduled Bus Dry Run on date to be determined
Create left-right directions prior to camp and give a copy to the Transportation Coordinator no later than the first day of camp
Make sure that the safety (physical and emotional) of each camper is of top priority
Follow all safety rules and guidelines stated by New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, as well as ones stated in the Bus Driver Manual
Provide an atmosphere of excitement as soon as the child gets on the bus, starting with enthusiastically greeting each child by name
Maintain accurate attendance records for children on your bus
Speak to appropriate staff member regarding any issues that arise on the bus
Attend all mandatory pre-camp orientation meetings
