Richard Cardillo: A six-time Moth Story Slam winner, has performed in three Moth Grand Slams, and is featured on The Moth website. He often performs in NY storytelling shows, including Surprise! Stories Storytelling Game Show, Friday Night Stories, The Story Collider, Taboo Tales, and Big Irv’s Brand New Storytelling Show.

David Lawson: A solo storytelling artist, host, and comic whose work was profiled by NBC News and American Theater magazine. David’s solo show Nazis and Me – about his encounters with hate groups – was selected as “best live theatre to stream online by TimeOut NY, and has been performed all over the country. Featured in the Comedy Central sketch The Rage Restaurant, David has hosted the monthly Astoria Bookshop Storytelling Show and currently hosts the Vino Theater Storytelling Show in Brooklyn.

Mel Dockery: Mel, a three-time MOTH Story Slam winner, has been featured on NPR’s MOTH Radio Hour, The Armando Diaz Experience, Andy Christie’s Liar Show, Leslie Goshko’s storytelling evenings at KGB Bar, Now You’re Talking, (mostly) TRUE THINGS, and has most recently been featured in A.R. Gurney’s The Dining Room and a Zoom performance of Michael Cristofer’s Shadow Box.

Renee Joshua Porter: With more than 30 years of experience as an educator, performer, professional voice-over artist, and playwright, Renee appears in national commercials, industrial films, and regional theater. Renee has been a featured storyteller on Now You’re Talking and hosts the internet cooking show Working With What You Got.

Mary Theresa Archbold: An actress, dancer and solo performer Mary Theresa’s has appeared on television and stage, most recently in the 2018 Pulitzer Prize winning play Cost of Living.Her off-Broadway solo show, Jazz Hand, was featured on NPR’s The Moth Radio Hour and This American Life. Selected to perform in the 2019 She Makes Me Laugh Women’s Comedy Festival, The Truth & Reconciliation Project for Womyn, an evening of short plays curated by Tonya Pinkins, RISK!, and many other NY-based shows, Mary Theresa as well co-hosts the podcast Funny Parents with her husband Pat Shay.

Jude Treder-Wolff: Host Jude is a storyteller, improviser, writer/performer, storytelling coach, and improv teacher, who has worked as a creative arts psychotherapist for 30 years. She is currently on Magnet Theater’s House Professional Improv Team, and has recently been featured in performances including The 2022 Women’s Storytelling Festival, The Story Collider, RISK! Live Show and Podcast, PBS’ Stories from the Stage, Generation Women, Story District, Ex-Fabula All-Star Winner, Mortified live show and podcast, Mistakes Were Made, The Armando Diaz Experience, STORYFEST and more. Her new solo show Human Flailing’s was featured in the 2022 Frigid Festival at The Kraine Theater, and her solo show This Isn’t Helping was selected for the 2018 Speak Up! Rise Up! Storytelling Festival, performed on off-Broadway and around the country.

Jude is president of Lifestage, Inc which provides storytelling and improvisation classes, workshops, and seminars for personal and professional development and produces community-building events in partnership with local organizations. In 2014 she created (mostly) TRUE THINGS, the first Long Island-based storytelling show, which grew into a monthly event at The Performing Arts Studio in Port Jefferson, and has expanded to around the country.

WHAT IS STORYTELLING?
Made popular by The Moth, storytelling is the expressive, vivid description of an experience and its impact on the storyteller’s beliefs, self-understanding, or life path, told live on stage without notes. The storyteller takes the listener through the experience, recounting the emotional twists and narrative turns that make a story compelling. These stories are fascinating, funny, full of heart, illuminating, and insightful, creating a memorable shared encounter with what it means to be human in a unique, highly-entertaining evening.
