Virtual: An Introduction to SCORE
Learn all about SCORE and our local Long Island chapter from small business mentors Sonal Patney and Ann Middleman. SCORE is a national nonprofit organization supported by the Small Business Administration. They offer free mentoring services, business information, and workshops to small businesses, and has served more than 700,000 businesses through 320 offices and more than 1,200 locations across the nation. This presentation will also discuss volunteer opportunities at SCORE.
Sonal Patney, Mentor
Sonal has been a banker having worked with many companies across diverse sectors, from early-stage, to middle market, to large corporations and investors such as foreign and domestic banks, other institutional investors, and individuals. Her career has spanned a number of disciplines beginning with TMT equity capital markets investment banking; her background also includes credit risk management, marketing and business development, debt capital markets investment banking, corporate banking, and most recently, being involved with capital raising efforts for seed-stage emerging technology companies for a private Australian company.
Ann Middleman, Mentor
Ann has been a marketing research professional for the better part of her professional life during which she has worked with B-to-C and B-to-B companies on a wide variety of assignments. As a result, Ann has developed a comprehensive view of marketing and all its components. In addition, she has been a featured speaker at a number of marketing professional conferences and workshops. Ann ran her own consulting practice for about 20 years before becoming a SCORE mentor in 2017, working with entrepreneurs in various stages of starting up and running their businesses.
