An after school experience for every child

Sid Jacobson JCC Youth Department offers after school activities onsite at our East Hills Campus, at Guggenheim Elementary School in Port Washington Union Free School District, at Center Street, Denton Avenue and Searingtown School in Herricks Union Free School District. All programs share the same goals which are to provide safe, positive, fun after school experiences for all children.

Offsite After School Programs

Programs offered in Port Washington and Herricks are licensed by New York State Office of Children and Family Services. Each of our locations offers enrichment options and homework help daily. With flexible scheduling to meet your needs, no registration fee, and payment plans available these programs are the perfect option for your family.

Onsite After School Programs

The Youth Department at Sid Jacobson JCC offers after school activities for every child. Our offerings include classes in athletics and fitness, the arts, technology, and mind building. Working with specialists from the community we are able to bring you the most quality programming right here in our building! If you or your child are looking for a special class that you do not see listed all you have to do is ask and we would be happy to add it for you!

Enrichment activities at Sid Jacobson JCC give children the opportunity to have a unique after school experience. From spending time together on the bus from school to the JCC, to enjoying a snack, homework help, and recreational play, and then creatively expressing themselves in enrichment each child goes home with a sense of accomplishment. Our staff, teen volunteers, enrichment teachers and coaches work together to create a positive after school experience for every child.

Enrichments at the JCC

The Youth Department offers school-age children tons of options both at the JCC in East Hills as well as in our surrounding communities. By offering transportation from the Roslyn School District, The North Side School and Solomon Schechter Day School to the JCC, the Youth Department makes having after school fun, convenient and easy. We have a wide range of after-school activities including sports classes, science, cooking and tae kwon do.

Save a Schlep! Transportation Available
We save you the trip. Your child is picked up from their local school and transported to the JCC. They will enjoy a snack, supervision and homework help before enrichment classes.

Basketball with Coach O’Brien – With 26 years of coaching under her belt, Coach O’Brien brings her experience to the JCC with skills, drills and games to advance your skills at any level!

Dance – Tap, spin, and twirl to the music, learning choreography to take home with you at the end of each session!

Faceoff Hockey w/ Unlimited Sports – Learn the art of stick-handling, positioning, scoring and game plays!

FIFA Soccer w/ Unlimited Sports – Learn the fundamentals of soccer, including dribbling, positioning, scoring and game plays!

Multi-Sport w/ Unlimited Sports – A combination of the sports you love: basketball, football, soccer, hockey and many more!

PhysEd Craze – Play the games you love in gym class. Team activities, cooperative games, and tons of fun!

Pro-Touch Soccer – Train hard like a pro by polishing your soccer as well as game skills.

Slam Dunk Basketball w/ Unlimited Sports – Learn the fundamentals of basketball, including the art of dribbling, court positioning and running plays!

Tae Cole Tae Kwon Do – Tae Cole of Albertson teaches the basics in a fun and exciting class. The program introduces you to the basics and inspires you to continue on the journey!

Touchdown Football w/ Unlimited Sports – Learn the basics of football through different types of drills, including throwing, field positioning and running plays!

US Open Tennis with SPORTIME – Learn the fundamentals of tennis by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size!

Yoga – Connect with your body, soothe your mind and channel your creativity in this class that exposes you to the deeper tenets of the ancient healing practice in a playful, challenging and fun way!

Zumba Kids w/ Raphael – High energy dance parties packed with kid-friendly moves!


Abrakadoodle: Art in Our World – This program enables you to focus on innovation! Activities will develop your creativity, imagination, technique skills, vocabulary and so much more!

Clay Creations – Express your creativity by using different kinds of clay to make cool projects!

Kidz Creations – An introduction to fun crafts and jewelry-making!

Kidz Creations III – A continuation of Kidz Creations II with more fun crafts and jewelry-making!

Kids Just Want to Have Fun – A little bit of everything in one class: cooking, arts and crafts, camp games and more!

Kids Pop Music w/ Carla – From Taylor Swift to the Beatles, learn about popular music through the decades and put together a performance for your family at the end of the semester.


Kids in the Kitchen – Mix, measure, create, bake and enjoy in this exciting and interactive class where you cook from start to finish!


Aerospace Engineering: Up, Up and Away! – Use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test and refine a variety of flying machines.

Jr. Marine Engineering: Set Sail – Explore the concepts of marine engineering and mechanics, harnessing the power of water and discovering designs that help us make the impossible, possible!

Play-Well Legos – Lego-inspired engineering classes for kids!

Science Explorers w/ The Science Museum of LI – From mixing amazing chemical reactions to interacting with live animals, this class will enrich any young scientist’s mind!


CHESS Nuts – Chess gives you concentration, strategy skills, self-esteem and confidence, while still being fun and challenging!

Spanish Immersion Workshop – Music, movement, games, arts and crafts, stories and circle tile are among the activities in every class that make it easy to naturally acquire Spanish!

STEM by Shari’s Little Learners – You will engage with real-world problems and experiences that lead to higher-level thinking in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math disciplines.
