The Debra & James Buslik/Tracy & David Levy Teen Services Center located within the Donnenfeld Generations Complex provides pre-teens and teens with meaningful opportunities to learn about themselves and others and develop their own opinions, values and beliefs about the world. The JCC brings teens from many area schools together for programming, service and learning every day of the week.

TEEN MEMBERSHIP

Become a teen member if you are 13 years old or older. As a teen member you can work out in the Cardiovascular and Conditioning rooms, swim in the pool, play sports in the gym, participate in fitness and exercise classes, and receive priority registration and member rates on programs. Music School Inc. has been providing exciting music education programs on Long Island since 2004. We offer both private lessons and group classes throughout the week to fit your busy schedule. Lessons and classes are held at Sid Jacobson JCC. All ages and levels.

TWEEN AND TEEN GROUPS

All My Love
Grades: 9–12
Be a part of this teen fundraising group and raise funds to help support causes you care about in the greater community, as well as provide financial aid to those in our JCC. Past events have included sports tournaments, battle of the bands and fashion shows.

Teen Council
Grades: 9–12

This discussion group is led by upperclassmen and is a great place to meet new people and talk
about teen issues such as peer pressure, cliques, stereotypes and more.
Meets once a month
Tuesday, 6:30–8:00pm

Adopt-a-Survivor
Grades: 9–12
Connect with local Holocaust survivors to hear their stories and share what you learn through art, writing or music. For more information, contact Lina Zerbarini at ext. 166, lzerbarini@sjjcc.org

   

TEEN FITNESS CLASSES

Teen Certificate Course
Teens ages 13–15 are required to take this course before utilizing the Health & Wellness Center. Parental attendance and a signed consent form are required. The major components include: how to design a program (reps, sets, what is safe, etc.), how to safely perform the selected exercises, safety and etiquette of the Health & Wellness Center, including weight rooms and cardio room. After completion of the certification course, you are able to utilize the fitness center, including the weight rooms and cardio room, independently.

Club 56
Grades: 5–6
Club 56 is the hottest place for 5th and 6th graders to be on Saturday nights! Come enjoy all kinds of activities at the JCC such as sports, swimming, dance and art.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES


After-School ACE Volunteer Program

Grades: 9–12

Volunteer one afternoon a week with elementary school children in enrichment classes (sports, arts 'n' crafts, karate, chess, dance, music and others). Programs are located at the JCC, and in the Herricks and Port Washington school districts.

Volunteer with Children with Special Needs
There are several different opportunities to work with teens and children with special needs, including teaching sports and life skills. These programs meet on Sundays. To learn more and sign up, contact Michelle Laser at ext. 200, mlaser@sjjcc.org



Volunteer at the 17th Annual Auction for Excellence, An Epicurean Event
Grades: 9–12
Have fun with other teens while giving back by donating your time at the largest annual JCC fundraiser. Perform six community service hours. Dinner included!
