Great new programs for tweens! Opportunities to hang together at the JCC, participate in community service and enjoy Saturday night on the town. Fitness and aquatics. The Barracudas swim team. Theatre productions. Jewish holiday programs. The JCC is the place for middle schoolers.

Teens enjoy opportunities at the JCC to meet new friends, stay fit, develop leadership skills, engage in programs of Jewish life and learning, and participate in meaningful community service year round.

TEEN MEMBERSHIP

Teens aged 13 and older can join the JCC with a special teen membership. Teen membership benefits include fitness center privileges, priority registration, member rates on JCC programs and complimentary fitness training sessions. For more information on membership, click here.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

 

After-School Volunteers
Grades: 9–12
Volunteer after school with Roslyn students in grades K–5. Help with homework, play games and assist in enrichment classes (sports, arts and crafts and much more). Programs are located at the JCC in East Hills and in the Herricks and Port Washington School districts. 


Mentoring
Grades: 9–12
Make an impact on the life of a child. Teens mentor K–5 students from disadvantaged families, helping with homework, playing games and spending fun time together.
One or two days weekly from 3:00–5:00pm.


Special Needs
Grades: 9–12
Volunteer with the Special Needs Department at the JCC. Work with children, teens and young adults. Volunteer opportunities after school and on the weekends.


Teen Council
Grades: 9–12
Teen Council is the place to talk about what life’s really like for you. Teens get together to discuss what matters to them and to help shape JCC teen programs. Theatre
The Theatre department needs set builders, scenic artists, costumers, lighting and sound technicians, stage managers and stage crew. Teens earn community service hours. College internship available.

 

J-Serve
A global day of service for Jewish teens. Participate in this annual event with 500 Jewish teens from across Long Island. Teens come together for six hours of community service. A great chance to give back to the community.



RECREATION


Hang Nights at the JCC
Grade: 6
A great way to spend Saturday nights. Sports, dancing, music, pool parties, the newest movies, a fabulous snack bar and great friends.

Grade: 8

LEADERSHIP


G.R.O.W. Girls
Grades: 7–9
Girls reaching overall potential is a new series of workshops for girls to learn about how to take care of themselves, both physically and emotionally. Made possible through funding from Sheldon A. Sinett B.A.S.I.C.S.

Holiday Leadership Team
Grades: 10–12

NEW! J-Fellowship - FULL
Grades: 11–12
A new program at the JCC. A select group of J-Fellows will work with JCC professional staff to learn about organizational management and business, sports management, public relations, marketing, fundraising, camping, working with people with special needs, cultural arts programming and other professional endeavors. Fellows will participate in monthly leadership training sessions and can earn scholarships for college.


NEW! Jewish Teen Philanthropy Team
- FULL
Grades: 9–12
We have partnered with Old Westbury Hebrew Congregation and the Jewish Funders Network to create a program for teens to learn about charitable agencies on Long Island and volunteer in the community. Opportunities to volunteer, plan fundraising events and enjoy meeting new friends while contributing to our community. Space is limited.
Fee $75 / members $50

B’nei Mitzvah: Everything But the Ritual
Grade: 7
The JCC will help you create an original and meaningful Bar/Bat Mitzvah project. Learn about service and volunteer opportunities and have the chance to help raise funds for a cause that’s important to you.
