New Leadership Group

Welcome to the New Leadership Group

We are a group of young families who come together to meet for social functions, engage in family-focused community service projects and partake in the many social service programs that the JCC has to offer. We strive to teach our kids what it means to “give back” and in the process, form lifelong friends with similar values.

Our mission is to develop future JCC leaders who create a welcoming and caring community for young families, through social programming and philanthropy. We meet bi-monthly to discuss our events and come up with new ones. Please come see what we are all about! You will be glad you did!

Social Events

Throughout the year, we put together social events for parents in the community or who might be moving to the community. Our bowling event alone consistently gets 120 people. In addition to bowling, we have done bar nights, Mets games, NCAA tournament night and mini-golf.

If you have an idea, come to our next meeting and share. We welcome all ideas and if feasible, we will make them happen.

Community Service

We put together family-focused community service projects to help teach our kids the value of giving back. Whether it is a toy drive, making soup for those in need, singing songs at the local nursing home or cleaning up Camp Kehilla, the JCC’s special needs camp, our goal is to put on events where we can attract all age children and reinforce the values gained by doing for others.

If you have an idea, come to our next meeting and share. We welcome all ideas and if feasible, we will make them happen.

We host philanthropic events to raise money for a cause the group feels strongly about helping. Our goal of reinforcing that helping those who need it most has worked, as our annual spin event has attracted the local teen group, who simultaneously puts on their own spin event. If you have an idea, come to our next meeting and share.

Kids For Kehilla
KidsForKehilla_logoKids for Kehilla is a fundraising and educational committee comprised of children aged 6–12 (along with their parents) who work to fundraise year-round for the Camp Kehilla Scholarship Fund. The committee was formed with the purpose of teaching our children the value of philanthropy and the importance of giving back while raising much needed funds for Camp Kehilla.
