Friendship Circle
Sid Jacobson offers those with memory and/or functional impairment a structured stimulating environment with personal attention that encourages cognitive and physical stimulation through a variety of group activities, including art, music and pet therapies. Families receive respite while their loved one is receiving relief from boredom and loneliness, enhanced self-esteem and new friends. Coffee, snacks, and a hot kosher lunch is provided. Transportation can be arranged for Nassau County residents. This program is made possible with funding from Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs through the New York State Office for the Aging and the U.S. Administration on Aging. Partial funding is provided by the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Fund for the Aging of UJA-Federation of New York and private donations.

Let's Do... SeriesTM
This series of supportive services is designed for the individual in their 30s, 40s and 50s diagnosed with Young Onset Alzheimer's disease, dementia or other neuro-degenerative disease; their spouse and their children. Partial funding for these programs is provided by funds raised from the Friendship Circle Luncheon and the Yellow Rose Society.

Fay J. Lindner Foundation Let's Do Lunch!TM
This innovative program provides physical, intellectual and social stimulation for the younger individual, while under the supervision of caring professionals. Activities include music classes, art classes, exercise programs, lunch, current events discussions, support groups and a vocational work program for participants. Transportation can be arranged for Nassau County residents.

Partial funding is provided by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America; Sheldon A. Sinett BASICS Fund; the Bettina Roberts Foundation; Jerome and Janet Kroll; Howard and Rosalind Kroplick; Rita and Frank Castagna.

Let's Do Dinner!TM
Let's Do Dinner!TM
is a monthly program for spouses of young onset individuals. They meet at a local restaurant for an opportunity to socialize with other spouses. This informal gathering helps spouses to network and offer support to each other.

Let's Do Pizza!TM
is a monthly program for the children of the young onset individual. They enjoy playing basketball or swimming; eating pizza while sharing with other kids with similar experiences.

Friendly Visiting Program
Do you know someone living alone who would benefit from a weekly visit from another senior, a young adult or a family. Looking for a fulfilling volunteer opportunity where you can make an impact on someone's life? Designed after the Dorot Friendly Visiting model, the JCC's Friendly Visiting Program will match dedicated and committed volunteers with a homebound senior in the Town of North Hempstead.

G.E.M.S. - Group Educational Memory Strengthening
NEWLY RESTRUCTURED!

Group designed for seniors (60+) in the early stages of memory loss. Educational lectures, exercise, café lunch, memory retraining techniques and a support group are offered in a place where members can gather information, share feelings and experiences with others in similar situations. Transportation can be arranged for Nassau County residents. Partially funded by the Sheldon A. Sinett Basics Fund.
