EMPLOYMENT

 

Development Director-Full Time

Philanthropy – Experienced financial resource development professional to supervise and grow the development department of a Jewish Community Center with an operating budget of $12 million. This professional will have direct responsibility for the major gifts campaign, leadership development, cultivation and stewardship, and oversight of all aspects of the JCC’s fundraising. Must have a minimum of 5 years experience.

Resource Development

  • Work closely with Development chair to establish a development committee which will identify potential donors and help set up cultivation meetings
  • Develop and approve campaign materials and strategies, naming opportunities and recognition
  • Work with lay leadership and staff to identify and cultivate potential future JCC leadership
  • Work closely with Board of Directors to develop an ongoing major gifts program
  • Manage a Direct Mail campaign  
  • Develop a Planned Giving campaign
  • Supervise an Annual Giving program which includes special events, foundation, government and corporate grants
  • Develop and implement Capital Campaign for new camp site                         

Stewardship

  • Develop and implement ongoing strategies to engage Board members and donors
  • Assure reports are provided to foundations and individual givers on a timely basis          

Communications

  • Manage team of professionals to unify messaging
  • Develop and implement cohesive calendar of communications to support fundraising
  • Interface with P.R. consultants to implement a Donor Awareness Campaign
  • Insure ongoing communication with prospects and donors

Administration & Management

  • Report to and work closely with Executive Director on resource development, stewardship and cultivation
  • Work with Controller to monitor contributions, payments, and billing related to development activities
  • Supervise Special Events Coordinator, PR coordinator and graphics staff to ensure appropriate media coverage, donor recognition and storyline development
  • Be prepared to take on other duties as assigned

Aquatics Director

Camp Jacobson at Robin Hood is looking for an Aquatics Director to oversee our 2012 summer camp program. Our beautiful 15-acre location in scenic Old Westbury is home to over 500 kids during the summer. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced person to help us make this Long Island’s premier summer aquatics program.

Requirements:

  • WSI certified
  • Nassau County Certified Lifeguard
  • Experienced in training/supervising staff
  • Available for the entire 8 weeks of camp
  • Able to work Monday–Friday from 8:30am–4:30pm

Part Time Child Care / After-School Programming (Center Street, Searingtown, Port Washington)

We are seeking child care workers who are talented, fun, outgoing, enthusiastic individuals looking for a great experience in our after-school satellite programs for children in grades K-5. Our staff members are expected to be respectful, responsible, honest, caring and have the ability to work hard in order for the after-school experience to be memorable and positive!

  • Must have experience working with children.

Early Childhood Administrative Coordinator

Sid Jacobson JCC, located on the North Shore of Long Island, seeks a full-time Administrative Coordinator for the Early Childhood Center who is outgoing and friendly, self-motivated, customer-focused, loves children and can maintain confidentiality.

We’re looking for someone with experience in an administrative role who is proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point), has the ability to learn quickly and has interest and experience in using technology and the internet (social media). In addition, the hours are variable and you must be able to accommodate the needs of the center.

In addition to being detail-oriented, you possess the strong communication skills and judgment needed to interact with a variety of people and job functions.
