Have Your Family Join Our Family
Welcome to the Bernice & Ira Waldbaum Family Children’s Center – Early Childhood Center, where we create an amazing environment for both parents and children to learn, play and grow!
We offer classes and services for families with children ages infant to five years old, including classes for babies; music, movement and swim classes; playgroup sessions; Jewish learning opportunities; infant and toddler daycare; babysitting and pre-school. Our JCC pre-school has been awarded the prestigious National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation for Excellence in Early Childhood Education.
Learning Through Play
The pre-school at Sid Jacobson JCC and Bernice Jacobson Day School & Camp engages all of a child’s senses—most of all the sense of wonder. As children share stories, sing and build with blocks, our licensed teachers help them discover new worlds. We capitalize on children’s boundless curiosity, directing their exuberance into academic, social, emotional and physical growth. In this warm and caring community, we help each child develop a strong framework to build on through a lifetime of learning. We work hard to foster a joy-filled environment in which children feel secure. The more comfortable they feel, the more willing they are to take the risks that ensure maximum learning and growth. Individual attention, along with opportunities for parents to get involved, creates a warm and close-knit community in which children flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
Experience The JCC Difference
Our teachers truly love what they do. To help each child learn and grow, they draw on strong backgrounds as early childhood educators, years of experience and ongoing professional development. Enthusiastic and dynamic, our teachers delight in finding new and innovative ways of helping children to connect with concepts, and to make new discoveries large and small about their worlds and themselves.
“Getting to know the children and their families is the best part of my job. Seeing the children’s excitement and eagerness to learn makes my days here complete.” – Dana Erdheim, Director of Early Childhood Services
